CAULDBECK GROUP

The Cauldbeck Group is a team of interdisciplinary scientists based at the University of Liverpool. Our research focusses on the use of radiochemistry to provide deeper insights into the fields of nanomedicine, polymer chemistry, formulation and biomaterials science.

FACILITY

The Radiomaterials Laboratory (RML) is a bespoke laboratory in which low energy radionuclides can be used, mainly H-3 and C-14.
The facility allows either the synthesis of tailored radiolabelled materials (organic compounds and polymers) or the handling of purchased radiolabelled materials. There is a class II cabinet available allowing the handling of radiolabelled biological samples.
The RML hosts equipment capable of quantifying radioactivity from both liquid and solid samples (a liquid scintillation counter and an oxidiser), imaging radionuclides, and radiopurity analysis. The RML contains: radioTLC, radioHPLC, radioAF4, radioGPC, radioDLS, freeze dryer, high energy sonication and homogenisation capabilities.
