COLLABORATIONS
UOL FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS TEAM
The Functional Materials Team (created in 2020) is a cross-Group working collaboration within the Department of Chemistry and the Materials Innovation Factory at UoL, comprising of The Cauldbeck Group, and the groups of Professor Steve Rannard and Dr Marco Giardiello. The strengths of the Team include polymer synthesis, polymer chemistry, colloid science, inorganic chemistry, organic and inorganic nanoparticles, nanocomposites, nanomedicine, radiochemistry and diagnostics. The aim of this Team is to build and support interdisciplinary collaborations for the development of new technologies.
DEPARTMENT OF EYE AND VISION SCIENCE
The Department of Eye and Vision Science (DEVS) in the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease is working to transform our understanding of the eye and the process of ‘seeing’. A collaboration with DEVS and St Pauls Eye Hospital supported a PhD Studentship with The University of Liverpool Doctoral Network in Technologies for Healthy Ageing. This programme is training the next generation of physical scientists and engineers to develop novel technologies and devices to address the challenges faced by older people and our clinical colleagues who work with them.
CELT
The Centre of Excellence in Long-acting Therapeutics (CELT) is a cross-faculty research initiative combining our world leading expertise in pharmacology and materials chemistry and working with international partners to disseminate research findings in long-acting medicine and change the global landscape of drug administration.
